Reflexology is based on an ancient approach in which the reflex points on the sole of the foot correspond to the body's organs and systems.
In this session each area is worked systematically; with gradual pressure applied by the thumb and other fingers, tight points are located and released with long breaths.
Reflexology's basic map reads the sole of the foot as a small copy of the body: the big toe represents the head and sinuses, the ridges beneath the toes the shoulder and lung area, the middle of the foot the abdominal cavity, and the heel the pelvic region. The therapist scans this map systematically; tight or tender points are interpreted as reflections of tension in the corresponding part of the body.
It is a simple yet deep encounter for those who stand for long hours, who have just returned from a journey or who feel a general need for balance. For guests with diabetes, peripheral neuropathy or open foot wounds the session is modified; notice before the session is important.
