Far East massage is a synthesis of the thousand-year-old Thai, Balinese and Japanese Shiatsu traditions.
Thailand's passive stretching movements, Bali's gentle pressure techniques and Shiatsu's point applications are blended within a single session. Pressure applied with the palm, elbow and thumb travels along the meridians known as energy lines.
All three traditions see the body not as a mechanical object but as a dynamic whole through which 'life energy' flows. Thai massage has its roots in Indian ayurveda, Balinese massage in Indonesia's traditional culture, and Shiatsu in ancient Japan. This philosophy shapes the pace of the session, the rhythm of the breath and the intention of the touch.
The body gains flexibility, deeply held tension is released, and the mind shifts into a calm synchronised with the breath. It is an ideal integrative ritual for those who wish to regain their flexibility and for guests whose balance has been shaken. In case of pregnancy, recent surgery or advanced joint conditions the session is modified; please let us know beforehand.
